'labor day'

I have to tell you as a kid and even now I never liked 'labor day'. It marked the end of my most favorite time of the year, summertime! I loved my summers as a kid, teenager and now as an adult. Everything slows down and you can really relax and take it all in. The pressures are off and this summer I found with having a 20, 18 and 14 year old, we had so much fun just doing nothing. We love to go out for dinner and go the beach but the best times are when we are surrounded by our kids and their friends. They are at an age that they love to be with us and no one is needing to be anywhere quickly. I will say that does not mean they still don't love going out and being with all of their pals.... but it sure does make my husband and I feel good that they enjoy our times together.

My oldest is back to college, our middle is now getting ready to look at colleges and our son will start 8th grade at a new school. All is good but I get sad when all chick-a-dees are not in the nest. Transition can be hard and I think summer to fall can be the hardest!

I have been inspired all summer with the colors, sights and sounds and I am getting geared up for a show on the 18th of September in Hamden! I have partnered up with 'In Watermelon Sugar' and 'Antique Exchange' for a cocktail reception that evening from 5 - 8 with delicious food by Grano Emporium and frozen treats by The Charmery! Hope you can swing by that evening and if not the show will be up for three weeks. Love to see you!

Enjoy your last few days of summer!
